“In times of darkness, focus on the light within.” I wanted to start a weekly self challenge of drawing very simple four panel comics based on my daily thoughts or messages I want to share with others. Hope you enjoy.

Story of The Silent Queen]……The Queen imposed a ban on speech as a form of communication except for 2 hours in the morning and in the evening during which the people were allowed to speak to one another freely. Peace soon prevailed as spoken words are oftentimes the root of all conflict and chaos.

The Coronation.

Time for a riddle.

The Agreement ] ….The witches gathered and unanimously agreed to put an end to the centuries-old tradition of limiting their wardrobe to black attires, as such an outdated rule went against the individual freedom of expression through one’s unique choices in fashion.

Arrival ] …And then she was sent to live with her grandmother who lived alone in a tiny house among the giant flowers that were known to devour trespassers and the ill-intentioned

And then she said, “Get yourself a sheet of white paper and draw whatever you want. Even the Sun and the Moon. And there! You will soon have created your own little world, where there is only joy and wonder.

The Magician’s unrequited love pushed him over into a bottomless pit of misery and not even the Moon nor the Forest Friends could offer any consolation

Her tears welled into a small lake where the water was known to cure all illness of the body and mind. People worried that the Queen’s sadness may come to an end one day but for many years, there was enough sorrow and misfortune in the world to keep her tears flowing.

The Sun fell into a deep slumber and no offering of any kind was potent enough to awaken her from the sleep that lasted for many days; until the King decided it was time to take the issue more seriously. .

And all they wished for was to be happily together for eternity. .

When you come face to face with your fears and all those heavy thoughts that weigh you down and make you feel like you can’t achieve something great, may you never give up, be courageous, and march forward to win every battle.

I was beginning to get really stressed out and unhappy with my art so I needed to write this down for myself - “Be fearless!” Things may not go the direction you envisioned but it still will all be OK in the end.

Look closely into the reflection of your hopes dreams to understand and acknowledge what you really want from your heart.It is journey worth taking to achieve true reconciliation with yourself.

Waiting patiently for the fall weather. This year, summer has been too long for me. I am so ready for some chilly winds and pumpkin cookies.

I watched the old version of the Secret Garden movie recently and fell asleep around 20 minutes in but nonetheless old films are great. Happy Friday everyone! And for my followers in Korea, happy Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving)!
