밤은 깊어가고 바람은 불고 윤동주 시집을 읽는 밤은 외롭다

살아온 날보다 살아갈 날이 더 적지만 남을 사랑하는 일보다

나를 사랑하는 일이 더 어렵다

달빛은 파도 위에 부서지고 파도는 내 마음 위에 부서지고

나는 비로소 내 이름 석 자를 달빛에 씻어본다

죽는 날까지 하늘을 우러러 한 점 부끄럼이 없기를 바라는 마음으로

오늘도 내 가슴의 밭에 한 줄기 시의 씨앗을 심는다

The night grows deep, The wind begins to blow,

And lonely is the night reading Yun Dong-ju’s poems.

Though the days I have lived are more than those to come,

Loving others has been easier than the task of loving myself.

Moonlight shatters upon the waves, And waves shatter upon my heart

Only now, in this light, Do I wash the three letters of my name.

With a heart longing to be without a speck of shame

Looking up at the sky until the day I die,

I plant, once again, a single seed of poetry In the field of my soul today.
